Welcome to My Personal Page
My wife, Beth, was diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic cancer in April, 2016. She was not a candidate for surgery, the only potentially curative treatment.
We are very fortunate that Beth is in the 1-3% of patients diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic cancer to live 5 years. She has endured 115 chemo treatments, 5 liver biopsies, months on an oral agent, an NIH immunotherapy clinical trial that unfortunately did not work, Y 90 radioembolization to the liver, and radiation to bone and brain. Though grateful for her survival thus far, we are worried as Beth is running out of options.
Beth's treatment regimens and clinical trial are made possible by research. PanCAN is a major funder of research including clinical trials, for pancreatic cancer.
We want to make further progress in research to open up new, effective treatments for pancreatic cancer, for Beth and all current and future patients.
Last year, we raised $20,000 for PanCAN PurpleStride, which supports research grants, coordination of tumor molecular profiling ("Know Your Tumor") to help find targeted therapy, patient information and advocacy. We have been active volunteers for PanCAN, including advocating for legislative funding.
Please help us improve outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients with your donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN), a 4-star non-profit from Charity Navigator for the 17th year in a row. No donation is too small (or big). We very much appreciate your support.
Thank you,
Ian
