This is everything...Fighting Pancreatic Cancer


2024: Here we go, back for another year! Raising money for Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN), which leads the world in the fight against pancreatic cancer. 

Pancreatic Cancer is still the biggest adversary I face. We certainly have made progress, but we need help. 

What progress, you ask?

1. Robotic surgery - Most pancreatic surgery resections I do are now performed using the DaVinci Robot System, allowing for smaller incisions, better outcomes, faster recovery. (By the way, robotic surgery is not quite what is sounds like...There is no actual robot or artificial intelligence. It is just a highly sophisticated system of intricate instruments and tools controlled by the surgeon).

2.New treatments - including new types of chemotherapy, new aids for nutrition and wellness, even new concepts of of how to fight cancer.

3. New people - we need to keep training our newcomers to be the best they can be. Nutrition, therapy, young researchers…

So how can you help?

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
