MAKING MOMENTS MATTER WITH GERALD LEHR and "santina's survivors"
I'm raising money in support of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network by participating in PurpleStride as a Member of Team Santina, while fighting for my husband Gerald Lehr.

I work with Michael Santina, an 9 year survivor and proudly my family will be joining his team again this year to walk with Mike and his family and supporters. He is and has been a big inspiration to our family through Gerald's journey these past 3 1/2 years. Michael was diagnosed at the young age of 34.
On July 20, 2016 Gerald was diagnosed with stage 2B pancreatic cancer.
On August 5, 2016 he underwent a 7 1/2 hour Whipple surgery, followed by a 2 month recovery at home.
On September 29, 2016 he began the 6 month chemotherapy journey, which consisted of infusion chemo treatments 1x/week, and oral chemo treatment pills 6x/day. He finished in March of 2017 and in May of 2017 his cat scan showed he was cancer free.
In July of 2017 he was diagnosed with a local recurrence, this time inoperable soft tissue tumor. The fight was now back on. He then completed 6 more months of chemo, and also a very advanced stereo-tactic radiation known as cyber knife. He then remained cancer free for almost 9 months.
In March of 2019 he was re-diagnosed with another recurrence and started the strongest of regimens Folfirinox. After 6 treatments we learned it has metastasized to liver and peritoneum. He is now fighting the biggest battle, but remains fighting.
On March 29, 2020, Gerald lost his fight with Pancreatic Cancer. We are heartbroken as a family but will continue to fight for a cure and awareness. He will forever be in our hearts. He is our hero, he fought the hardest fight.
Our family and friends will be walking virtually in his memory and for all others who have passed and are fighting. The money raised will go to The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to support cancer research.
Pancreatic cancer has a only 10% survival rate of 5 years and is the 3rd deadliest cancer. Please help raise these survival numbers.
