I just wanted to give everyone an update on my fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer.

The Purple Stride St Louis walk/run to end Pancreatic Cancer was April 29th, in Forest Park.

Due to activities involving our granddaugher's (high school soccer and softball) at the same time as the walk, Gerry and I were unable to attend the walk, but we did stop by on Friday and spoke to one of the organizers, Donna Sikes a 9 year survivor who shared her story.

As of today May 4, with the generous support of friends and family Gerry has raised $4449.28, just a tad short of her goal of $5000.00.

You know Gerry's story, Gerry and I have been involved in the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Purple Stride since her sister Marge was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in 2011 and passed away in June, 2012. Gerry was diagnosed in 2013, had Whipple surgery, chemo, and radiation, and is 10 years cancer free.

This past weekend on the day of the Pancreatic Cancer walk/run one of the major news networks highlighted a well known TV personality who recently died of pancreatic cancer and mentioned other well known personalities who died the last few years of pancreatic cancer.

There may be a family member, relative, or friend you know that  has pancreatic cancer, or has passed away from pancreatic cancer. Though not famous like those mentioned in the news program, but during their life they made an impression on you and the lives of those around them.
