Dear Family and Friends,

For the eighth year, my family and I will be participating in the Pancreatic Cancer Network's PurpleStride Walk. The St. Louis walk will be on Saturday, April 29, 2023, along with approximately 60 cities across the United States. PanCan has transitioned to having a National PurpleStride Walk instead of allowing each participating city to choose their own walk date. Our Walking for Lynn Team will be an active participant in the St. Louis event on April 29, 2023.

I am grateful for all of the generous donations that have been made to this charity and cause during my years of involvement. Once again, I am asking you to please join me in supporting this organization with a donation.  This is the only fundraiser we will have in 2023. 

The mission of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is near and dear to my heart. My sister, Lynn, lost her life to pancreatic cancer on December 4, 2019. When she was diagnosed with the disease, she set a goal of surviving at least 5 years so that her name could become part of that small percentage of patients who reach that milestone. She reached that goal two weeks prior to her death. She was relentless in her fight against this dreadful disease. I admired her strength throughout the entire journey! During a conversation I had with Lynn, she requested that we continue to walk to raise money for pancreatic cancer research and patient advocacy. Our efforts are indeed making a difference. The 5 year survival rate has just risen to 12% with the hope of it reaching 20% by 2030!

I assured Lynn that we would continue our efforts to raise money in the hopes of providing more support and resources for current and future patients and for assisting researchers in finding a cure for this dreadful disease. Pancreatic cancer continues to affect thousands of patients and families every day. It is imperative that we continue our mission to wage hope and support efforts to raise critical resources to battle the world's toughest cancer.
