Hi to All!

I am Teaming up with my daughter, Michelle Strahl, on April 29, 2023 in Portland, OR for the PanCAN Purple Stride fundraising event to help raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients and give them free, personalized one to one support through PanCAN Patient Services.

I have a personal investment in this, having lost my brother, Mark, to pancreatic cancer, and this followed with several other losses from this cancer that included another family member and a dear friend. Maybe you too know about this cancer on a personal level.

More than 64,000 Americans are expected to be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2023. That is 175 people diagnosed every day.  Pancreatic cancer is the 10th most commonly diagnosed cancer in the U.S. It is a difficult cancer to diagnose and is often found in the later stages. Tests to find pancreatic cancer in the earliest stages are urgently needed. My hope is to create opportunity for all patients with pancreatic cancer to thrive.

I want to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and I need your help to do that!

About PanCAN PurpleStride

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
