This year I am looking forward to being a 12-year Pancreatic Cancer survivor!  Please read this short note to help you understand why making a donation is still important to all of us.  

I continue to walk in this event because researchers are making progress. Today I received an email sharing the news that enough patients have enrolled in a PanCan supported research program to advance that study into the next stage of research.  They have found a connection between new-onset diabetes and pancreatic cancer.  Ultimately, the hope is regular screenings will lead to earlier diagnosis, increasing survival. There are lab screening tests on the horizon too.   

 April 26, 2025, PurpleStride Phoenix will join Purplestride walks across the nation for the fourth year of a nationwide walk.  I walk to celebrate my survival but also to give back by helping others.   I also want to honor those who have not survived by walking in PurpleStride Phoenix.

Thank you supporting this event.  Everyday it's great to say I had pancreatic cancer.  Betty

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.
