My Mother, my best friend, my strength.

Of all the things that I "imagined" would snatch my mother from me, pancreatic cancer was not one of them. In January of 2017, my mom was diagnosed with this inoperable,  incureable cancer. I was devastated. We lost my mom 8 weeks after her diagnosis.  I am still devastated. It makes no sense to me that THIS particular cancer is always found "too late". Why? Why cant we find it in time to have more survivors? Thats what this is about for me. I have to help in some way. I have to be my mothers warrior. I fought with her and for her while she was here, and there is no way that I will stop fighting now. Join me in helping fight against pancreatic cancer. Thank you.

Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 9%. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
