Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 9%. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination. 

Pancreatic Cancer took my hero away from me to soon. My grandfather was a man like no other. The way he could make you laugh until you cried, the stories he would tell you (although you never knew if they were true or not) the gentlemen he was to everyone he interacted with. He was the type of man you wanted to grow up to be or the type of man you wanted to marry one day. 

I’ve stepped up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer in memory of my late grandfather Herb Kauffman. Not a day goes by that I don't think about the time we had together. It is in his honor that I will walk at the PurpleStride. Will you help me rewrite the future of this disease by making a donation today?

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
