Welcome to My Personal Page

The PurpleStride is more than just a fundraising event; it is a motivation to #WageHope. Since 2017 when Ed was diagnosed, this has become an event that he not only looked forward to attending, but he participated, even if only days out of the hospital. In 2018 I ran with Ed in the PurpleStride, again not long after being released from a hospital stay. In 2017 I flew across the country to be with team #ShockStrong as Ed ran the stride just days out of the hospital in his fight against Pancreatic Cancer. Ed was proudly wearing the sparsely worn SURVIVOR shirts. Help us rewrite the future of this disease by making a donation to allow more survivor shirts in the Purple Strides to come.

#WAGEHOPE

When Ed became a member of a club that no one wants to join, in January 2017, we had 200 #SHOCKSTRONG wristbands made to make sure he knew he had a strong team behind him. In response, his wife Therese said "there aren't 200 people that like him!" Well, with the wristbands long gone, that team of 200 continues to channel Ed for strength and inspiration.

After a successful Whipple surgery that February from his team at Johns Hopkins, along with an immunotherapy clinical trial and advanced cyber-knife radiation, THAT June Ed was proudly wearing one of the far-too-rare white SURVIVOR shirts at the Washington, DC PurpleStride - ONE WEEK out of the hospital. Over the next two years he continued his fight as the cancer returned, trying every treatment possible including proton radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Ed was a three-time PurpleStride participant, between DC and Maryland, proudly wearing his SURVIVOR gear at each race.

Throughout his battle, Ed made no excuses and was a PurpleStride PARTICIPANT at each one he attended. If you are unable to Stride with us, we ask that you contribute towards our goal as we participate on Ed's behalf. PanCAN is a resourceful and determined organization. As an organization, PanCAN has a 4-Star (out of 4) rating from Charity Navigator; the dollars go to the mission.
