Hello friends!

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page in honor of my dad, Ed Marra. We lost my dad in 2006, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. 

Pancreatic cancer still has a 5 year survival rate of only 11%. Estimates show that before 2030, pancreatic cancer will rise to become the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the US. 

My dad had a passion for life, and a drive to make a difference in the world. His motto was "passion to win", which really meant passion to succeed and passion to overcome. He taught me to work hard, and to never give up in the face of adversity. 

This year, I'm working hard with a team of volunteers to host San Francisco's PurpleStride, which is an annual fundraiser for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. This organization funds cutting research, patient/caregiver services, government advocacy, and more. My family personally benefited from the organization's services years ago. 

This event is very emotional for me. Hundreds of survivors, families, caregivers, and friends gather in the fight against this disease. It reminds me of what my family went through. It also reminds me of how much work there is to do in order for us to find a cure. Doing all that I can to help patients and their families who face this disease is what I consider my life's mission.

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
