My survivor story:

Flashback to Sept. 2018. After preparing my parents' house for sale, training for my first marathon and dealing with significant job stress, I suddenly turned yellow out of nowhere. I had some minor symptoms, but they were easily associated with all those life events.

Thankfully, I was diagnosed early and given a fighting chance. My amazing medical team took a very aggressive approach, with several rounds of chemo and radiation cycles before surgery and more chemo afterward. It was the right call; I've been clear since April 15, 2019.

Pancreatic cancer is relentless and so often diagnosed too late. Currently, the 5-year survival rate is 13%, and that's double the rate from less than a decade ago. Progress = hope.

I am going to help continue that progress with your support.

I'm participating in PanCAN's PurpleStride, a year-round national movement that funds life-changing programs and services for pancreatic cancer patients and their families.

About PanCAN PurpleStride

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
