Striding for mom & all the pancan fighters

Lori B is a fighter. Anyone who has met her is certain of that fact. In January 2023, we joyously celebrated as mom surpassed a major milestone for pancreatic cancer patients, five years cancer free. In February 2023, we received the news no one expected nor ever wants to hear. Mom's cancer has returned. 

The good news, we were told this is by no means the end of mom's battle. Pancreatic cancer research and treatment have come a long way since her diagnosis in 2017. Thanks to organizations like PanCAN and fundraisers such as PurpleStride, we've been able to receive tremendous support and resources, as have so many others like our mother. 

This year, while Lori B undergoes chemotherapy treatment and continues her fight, we'll be Striding in San Francisco at Crissy Field on Saturday, April 29 in her honor. The event start time is not yet available but will likely be around 9:30 a.m. 

PanCAN’s PurpleStride is a year-round national movement that funds lifechanging programs and services for pancreatic cancer patients and their families.

Every dollar you give means more patients can benefit from PanCAN’s free, one-on-one support, personalized information, service and resources that can make a real difference in their lives.

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
