Goal: $3,750

In the Fall of 2018 I started having some slight abdominal pain. By November it was clear "something was going on." Boy was I lucky. Not because it turned out to be pancreatic cancer causing those symptoms, but because I had those symptoms when the cancer was in the early stages—most pancreatic cancer patients aren't that fortunate. They only find out once the cancer has spread elsewhere that they are sick. That's one of the reasons this cancer is such a tough one.

April 30th is The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) annual PurpleStride, a national fundraising event to raise awareness about PC. I encourage you to make a donation. It will help pay for outreach and free support for patients, including connecting them with promising clinical trials; support and education for caregivers, grants to young researchers and advocating for more national research. We need tools for early diagnosis, to improve current treatments, and find new ones. Over the last decade PanCAN has helped budge the 5 year survival rate for patients from 6 percent to 11. Please lend your help to keep pushing that percentage higher! Thank you so much!
