In 2018 I had some mild pain deep inside my stomach.  A visit to the doctor and a biopsy told the story.  I was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer and life was forever changed.  Tumor testing found I have the BRCA 2 mutation which increased my chances of developing pancreatic cancer, as well as other cancers.  The treatments were difficult but I was lucky, my body responded well.  My continued success in this fight is due to the new treatment options discovered during research!  In the fall of 2021 I became patient 1 of a phase 1 study, doing my part to help others fight this awful disease!   Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers.  This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination.

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.
