Welcome to my page!

My name is Maya Joffe. In May of 2019 I lost my Great Aunt Rosalie to pancreatic cancer. After she passed this inspired me to do my mitzvah project on raising awareness for pancreatic cancer. That year my mom helped me find Purple Stride and I raised about 4.5k my first year. Two years ago, with the help of a friend, we about doubled the amount I raised my first year. This has now become a yearly tradition for me and this is now my fourth year raising money for pancreatic cancer awareness. This year I have a goal of 15,000 dollars. I have made grand club and been one of the top fundraisers each year and I hope to be in top 10 again this year! I continue to do this project each year as I didn’t get a lot of time with my Aunt Rosalie. I saw her a bunch when I was little and the last time I had seen her I was 9 or 10. This project is a way for me to make sure we don’t forget how cancer can take someone we love away from us and help them still live on in our hearts. With the money I raise for the PurpleStride walk it will help fund research for a cure for pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.
