My mom was a beautiful soul that truly judged no one and loved unconditionally. She had such a deep love of owls and making macrame wall hangings. My mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April of 2019. She was able to have the Whipple procedure and undergo chemo however she would have a second battle to fight, as soon after she was diagnosed with colon cancer (a second primary cancer). My mom fought so incredibly hard and in April of 2020 after fighting arduously for 375 days she lost her battle with pancreatic cancer. 

My college sponsor, Mr. Posey was an amazing man and philanthropist. After a 3 year battle, he too lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. It is because of him that I had the opportunity to have a full ride to an elite private college. It is because of him that I am able to have a career doing something that I love. 

Two of the most significant people in my life both courageously lost their battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 73. It is my intention to continue their fight where they left off. My goal is to give support and a voice to those that are fighting through this disease.
