"My mama showed me the importance of being powerless, inevitably we all must accept the loss of control. But more importantly my mama showed me the power in having strength.

I may have to humbly accept this is a situation out of my control but don't mistake it for weakness. For I will never submit to the power of this disease...mama raised fighters...so this is me taking a stand..."

Last month I received the most devastating news of my life. My mommy the woman I spent my entire life figuring out how to save was diagnosed with Stage 3 locally advanced Pancreatic Cancer. While getting a CT for another unrelated illness a mass was observed on her pancreas. Naturally she opted to go straight to the best & opted to get biopsy results at Sloan-Kettering Memorial in NYC. Within a weeks time she was able to get all step up through Sloan and spent 3 separate days getting various testing. On Thursday January 16th our entire family gathered at her home after work to witness and celebrate as she married her soulmate Rich. January 17 test results returned and changed our lives forever. She is scheduled to begin treatment soon and we are preparing for battle.
Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 10%. This deadly disease is a living nightmare no one should ever have to experience. I welcome anyone who would like to join my team as we Stride for Cyndee on April 25th in the Seaport District.

I've stepped up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer. Will you help me rewrite the future of this disease by making a donation today?

Every dollar that you give ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to improve outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients.

Purple ribbons aren't enough. Please join me in the fight today.
