When I was first diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, I focused on only one concern: Survival.
As a physician, I knew my chances of beating this cancer were dismal. I soon began to think from a new perspective. I was so fortunate to have family and friends whose support was tireless. Your support came in so many forms. From a text saying I was in their prayers, to long conversations urging me that grit and determination would win. But this appeal is not about me.
Of the 60,000 people who are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer each year, most face a grim future. I am asking you to join my team: ”Elliott’s Army” and be a part of the PurpleStride Philadelphia event that supports the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCan) on April 29, 2023.
As you have supported me, I ask you to lend support to all those who suffer from pancreatic cancer. PanCan supports clinical research, directs patients to clinical trials that are suitable for a patient’s clinical picture, disseminates evidence based information on the disease (including recent treatment breakthroughs), as well as offers for emotional support.
I am asking you to support PanCan, dedicated to take bold action for all those patients impacted by pancreatic cancer. Our goal is $10,000. Please contribute to Team “Elliott’s Army” so that all those afflicted with this terrible disease will have more options that offer a cure.

On One Big Day, through 60 PurpleStride events taking place across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.
