Welcome to My Personal Page
Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 10%, and is the third leading cause of cancer related deaths in the U.S. As most of you are aware, David passed away from this deadly disease in October 2019, just four months after diagnosis. In addition, his cancer was genetic and very aggressive. Both his mother and maternal grandfather passed away from it also.
I am participating in this year's "virtual" PurpleStride, the walk/run to end pancreatic cancer -- and I am combining this with a "virtual" Celebration of Life for David as outlined in the e-mail you all received. In addition to the virtual 5K (scheduled for June 28), I will be doing a daily activity or activities from June 1 through June 28 to celebrate David. I will be counting my minutes and will donate the equivalent in dollars! I will be posting my weekly activities and minutes achieved (see below.)
If you are inclined and able to donate, I would encourage you to do so. Every dollar that you give ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to improve outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients. I am also very aware that during this difficult time in our world, the capacity to donate may be limited. Whether or not you are able to donate, I am looking forward to hearing how those of you who knew David are celebrating and remembering him. While the funding is very important, sharing the memories is far more important this year.
But if you can donate, please join me in the fight for early diagnosis and improved treatment.
Week 1: Donation: $793.00
Week 2: Donation: $705.00
Week 3: Donation: $650.00
