Lucky Charms

Five years ago, I took a trip to the ER and learned I had Pancreatic Cancer. This is a particularly deadly disease and treatment options are limited and harsh. Staying alive meant many rounds of chemo, radiation, and multiple surgeries.  With the help of my family and friends, my Lucky Charms if you will, and a great medical team, I'm still here. Most pancreatic cancer patients are not so lucky.  At the time of my diagnosis, the 5 year survival rate was 10%. That rate is now 12%, in large part from the research and support provided by PanCAN.  I want to see the survival rate continue to increase and save the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and I need your help to do that!

PanCAN PurpleStride is the number one way PanCAN raises money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients, and gives them free, personalized one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services. Their work is important, not just in the present, but also for future generations.      

My siblings have been with me throughout my diagnosis and treatment and will join me at Como Park on Saturday, April 27th for PanCAN Purple Stride. PurpleStride is for everyone, and I’d love for you to join us (Team: Lucky Charms).  Just click the Register button at the top of this page and follow a few easy steps to get set up. On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
