It has been three years since our daughter and team captain, Sam, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Little is known about her rare type of pancreatic cancer called solid pseudopapillary neoplasm except that it mostly occurs in young women of child bearing age.

And this is why we walk. To raise money to fund vital research.

A year ago we were told that Sam would only need annual scans for five years. But during her last appointment with her surgical oncologist, we were told she would need annual scans for the rest of her life. New research has shown reoccurrence for her type of cancer is detected years after the tumor has been removed. So due to your generous contributions that help fund research, we are learning more about pancreatic cancer which helps to bring new treatment options to patients.
