December 9, 2021 is a day that changed our family forever. After a couple of months of just feeling "off" and increasing abdominal and back pain, we found out that I had a large tumor growing on the tail of my pancreas. We heard the words "large mass" and "cancer", and we were terrified.

We were even more terrified after speaking with various oncologists and learning what the odds were. It all seemed like a bad dream. I was the type of person who might get one cold a year. How could this be happening? 

We allowed ourselves time to grieve and to come to terms with our new reality, and then we decided to get to work to start the fight. I began my first round of chemotherapy less than three weeks after my diagnosis, and I haven't slowed down since. I don't even know how many rounds of chemotherapy I have had. The side effects are less than desirable, but ultimately treatment is buying me more time. My hope is that while I'm buying myself more time with my family and friends, better treatments and research will be done to put an end to pancreatic cancer

I’m going to help make progress, with your support. I want to make sure that there is more knowledge about Pancreatic Cancer so that others do not have to experience what we are going through, and I want to make sure that those who have Pancreatic Cancer and their families receive the support that they need.
