My life has been forever changed since July 29, 2020. Glen had been experiencing some weigh loss and a persistent cough. We called his primary care doctor and they wanted to make a virtual appointment, something inside me knew we need to see a doctor in person so we headed up to urgent care in Foxboro. For the first 4 hours I walked around, Glen texting updates as they did different testing. Each one progressed onto the next test. The last 2 hours I sat outside on a bench @ Brigham & Women's- due to  COVID restrictions I couldn't be with him. Finally, Glen called and said they wanted me to come upstairs?? When I got up to his room the Dr. had a paper in her hand and proceeded to say we have a few things going on. Glen had diabetes, they found a mass on the tail of his pancreatic, spots on his lungs and as if that wasn't enough, he had scoliotic densities ( similar to a woodpecker pecking on the bone) on his backbone. All of this without any symptoms other than weight loss and a cough. WOW, our world fell apart and we were only starting this devastating journey. Immediately we made an appointment with Dana Farber, they confirmed Glen had stage 4 pancreatic cancer and given 12 -13 months to live. How does something like this go undetected? We were told over and over there aren't many options for testing or treatment. Our journey included several surgeries and months & months of chemotherapy. Throughout all of it Glen fought like a superhero, but this awful disease won in the end.

I want to honor my guy and everything he went through by raising  awareness and funds that can go toward research and clinical trials so that the future for other pancreatic cancer patients can be more promising. This is key to saving lives.
