Kacey Flanigan

Welcome to my PanCAN PurpleStride Personal Fundraising Page!

Hey, there!

I’m taking steps to end pancreatic cancer at PanCAN PurpleStride on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

I want to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and I need your help to do that!

When my brother, MSG Ryan Kerns, was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer in September 2021. He went to the hospital several times before they found his cancer, each time sending him home without knowing what was making him sick. He survived only 486 days after diagnosis. My goal is to spread early symptom awareness and promote early detection.

The overall 5 year survival rate for Pancreatic Cancer was just recently increased to 13%. That's not a reassuring figure for a patient or a family member facing a devasting diagnosis.

Ryan decided to stay positive and follow the established treatment protocols, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy.  He spent time with people he loved and enjoyed going to sporting events with his wife.

When conventional treatments failed him, he turned to PanCAN for help. I wish he would’ve reached out to them sooner.

Hopefully with your help, we can make a difference in the lives of all pancreatic cancer patients and caregivers lives!
