Welcome to my PanCAN PurpleStride Personal Fundraising Page to honor Dave (Grump) Richardson

Hello family and friends,

I’m taking steps to end pancreatic cancer at PanCAN PurpleStride on Saturday, April 26, 2025 in memory of my brother, Dave Richardson, AKA Grump.  Dave battled this beast for over a year and unfortunately lost his gallant battle on May 11, 2022, at just 48 years old. He endured multiple rounds of awful chemotherapy and other various treatments including a highly complicated and invasive Whipple surgery procedure.

More than 66,000 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this year. Surgery offers the best chance for controlling pancreatic cancer but most patients are diagnosed at later stages and not eligible for surgery. Tests to detect pancreatic cancer in its earliest stages are desperately needed!! That’s why raising money through PanCan is so important.

PanCAN PurpleStride is the number one way PanCAN raises money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients, and gives them free, personalized one-to-one support through PanCAN.
