Dear Friends and Family,

I am once again raising funds and awareness for PanCAN's PurpleStride, 2025.  As you know, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2022.  Since my surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy, I have been in remission.  With extraordinary luck and an amazing team of doctors, nurses, as well as my family and friends, I have been able to convert a difficult diagnosis into a mission to support this worthy cause that has become so near and dear to my heart.  

While advancement has been made in potential vaccines and immunotherapy, it remains one of the deadliest cancers with only a 5 year survival rate at just 13%.  According to the American Cancer Society, "Pancreatic cancer is hard to find early. The pancreas is deep inside the body, so early tumors can’t be seen or felt by health care providers during routine physical exams. People usually have no symptoms until the cancer has become very large or has already spread to other organs."

I don't take my own survival for granted, especially when many of my fellow patients have not had the opportunity.  As long as I'm still alive, I intend to pay it forward and do what I can to raise awareness and resources for research, support, education and treatment.

2) Please join me, Mike and Oliver for Purple Stride, the Annual Walk/Run to end Pancreatic Cancer  The event will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the South Street Seaport in NYC beginning at 9 AM.  If you're not in the NYC area, Purple Stride is taking place at 57 other locations on April 26, 2025.
