Will you help me fight pancreatic cancer at PurpleStride?

 

 

One year ago today, on October 29, 2023, I lost my cousin Jules Kalan of Monongahela, PA, to pancreatic cancer. He suffered for years, but was only diagnosed a few weeks before his death. 

Losing Jules so suddenly changed the course of my life, as I switched careers and joined the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) in January 2024. 

PanCAN is boldly committed finding treatments, early detections and better survival rates for this aggressive cancer. 

If you or someone you love is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, you'll be grateful that PanCAN exists. 

In Jules' memory, I'll be taking steps at the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on April 26, 2025.

 

PurpleStride:

  • aims to increase the 5-year survival rate to 20% by 2030.

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
