Why I support the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network...

I first learned of pancreatic cancer when my aunt, Jennifer Chapman, was diagnosed in 2018.  Jen fought hard but eventually succumbed to the disease in 2020.  Shortly thereafter in January 2021, my mother, Melissa Kress learned that she too would battle this horrible cancer.

Even watching my family members live with pancreatic cancer, so much is still unknown.  This organization is the only resource that I have found to make strides in treating those diagnosed, as well as offer support to their loved ones.

Why we are team Walk by Faith...

My mom went to be with Jesus on November 21, 2022.  She put up a fierce fight for two years, never losing faith.  Mom touched the hearts of countless people, largely due to her love for and trust in the Lord.  Her legacy lies within the beauty of her soul.  I have no doubt that she is begin celebrated in Heaven as we mourn her on earth.

This is year three with PurpleStride and I am so excited to be leading the team in CHICAGO!  My hope is that this event will honor my mom, my aunt, and the many others who have fought and continue to fight pancreatic cancer.

About PanCAN PurpleStride

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
