It's that time again! Join Team Rosette for our 3rd Annual PurpleStride in Honor of Rob Rosette!

I can't believe it's been 2.5 years since we lost my mentor, Rob Rosette, to pancreatic cancer.  When he was diagnosed in January 2022, his family, law firm, clients, and friends rallied around him.  He was positive, faithful, and ready to battle his way through chemo.  Nine months later, he passed away -  swollen, jaundiced, and still searching for a clinical trial.  He wanted to keep fighting.  His body couldn't do it anymore.  I was so shocked by how aggressive, vicious, and unrelenting his cancer was.

In the aftermath of his passing, we were all so wracked with grief that PurpleStride ended up being a way to turn pain into action.  For the past two years, his colleagues, friends, and clients have raised money and walked - both in Sacramento and all over the country.  This year, we will again gather in Sacramento to remember him.  PurpleStride is the vehicle I choose to not only honor his work in Indian country but also to recognize that we must find better detection and treatment options for pancreatic cancer.  And PanCAN is the organization that will fuel that innovation.

Rob fought hard. In everything, always. For his clients, for Indian people, and for those he loved. For over ten years I watched him advocate for the underdog, demand better for tribal governments, and lift up those around him. It is an incredible legacy.  It's a mantle we must all take up now that he's not here to carry it.

I'm walking in Sacramento on Saturday, April 26. I'm bringing family and friends along - that includes you!  Please register to walk, donate to get your shirt, and join Team Rosette.

If you can't walk, please help me fundraise. Anything helps -

$9 for the number of months Rob fought after his diagnosis

$25 for the number of years Rob practiced law

$52 for Rob's age, way too young to go

$100 for Rob's regular blackjack bet

$574 for the number of federally-recognized Indian tribes - the governments to whom we dedicate our law practice
