Walking in Honor of Nancy & Fighting to End Pancreatic Cancer

On November 1, 2007, I lost my mom, Nancy, to pancreatic cancer—just 11 days after losing my dad, Ambrose, to brain cancer. The cancer was unforgiving and rapid, taking her before I could even process that she was sick. Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers, with a five-year survival rate of just 12%, and yet, it receives far less funding and attention than other major cancers.

This year, I am joining PanCAN PurpleStride on Saturday, April 26th, to walk in honor of my mom and to help fund research, early detection, and better treatment options for those facing this devastating disease.

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
