Hi Friends!

Just over seven months ago, on September 12, 2023, pancreatic cancer stole Kevin, the love of my life, from me.  He courageously fought a 19-month battle with this dreadful disease.  In spite of the many challenges he faced, Kevin maintained a positive attitude and admirable determination throughout his ordeal. 

Pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality rate of all the major cancers.  Though its five-year survival rate has doubled over the last decade, it currently stands at a pitiful 13%.  It is the third leading cause of cancer-related death in men and women combined in the United States and is on track to become the second-leading cause before 2030.

PanCAN’s mission is to take bold action to improve the lives of everyone impacted by pancreatic cancer by advancing scientific research, building community, sharing knowledge and advocating for patients.  PanCAN provides research funding for early detection and life-saving research through clinical trials.

Please help me save other families from the misery of watching a loved one suffering with this horrible disease and support my fundraising efforts for PanCAN.  I would greatly appreciate a gift in any amount to help support PanCAN’s mission.

Last year, I optimistically walked in support of Kevin’s battle.

This year, I sadly walk in his memory.

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
