Hey, there!

I’m taking steps to end pancreatic cancer at PanCAN PurpleStride on Saturday, April 29, 2023.  

In 2021 I thought I had a bad case of indigestion after eating a couple greasy burgers at a picnic.  Fortunately I have a super diligent physician who insisted on searching for the source of a possible problem thinking this was likely a gallbladder attack.  It turned out that I had a tumor in the head of the pancreas blocking the pancreatic duct from delivering the enzymes necessary to digest grease.  With early diagnosis, I was qualified for a Whipple and was blessed to have an excellent surgeon and oncologist without which I would not be here today.  Instead, after a successful procedure and chemo I am enjoying a vibrant and active life!

I want to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and I need your help to do that!

PanCAN PurpleStride is the number one way PanCAN raises money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients, and gives them free, personalized one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services.

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.
