One of the best teachers I ever had was Rick "Doc" Sullivan, who I had for English in my senior year of high school. Doc was a brilliant scholar, thoroughly steeped in the subject, with a true gift for teaching. Sadly Doc passed away from pancreatic cancer a few years ago. My father died from complications related to pancreatic cancer around the same time. I'm proud to be joining a team of Doc's students, friends, and colleagues who will participate in a 5K run/walk in lower Manhattan to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research this Saturday April 29. If I'm doing this right (I was always better at writing essays about James Joyce than these technical things) there should be a way for you to click on something and donate. Thanks!

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
