Thank you for supporting my PanCAN PurpleStride fundraiser!

I'm walking in honor of my late wife, Judy Paturalski, who passed away in July of 2023 from this dreaded disease.  Judy and I met in 1989 in Denver, Colorado.  We met through the MSU alumni association and dated for several months until my job pulled me back to Michigan.  I thought of her often throughout the years, and fate reconnected us in 2015.  We began texting each other in 2017, and finally started a long distance relationship in early 2018.  We knew relatively quickly that this was forever, and made plans to retire and get married.  We accomplished our goals, and by June of 2020 we were living in our dream home in northern Michigan.  Six months later Judy was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  She fought valiantly for two and a half years.

I’m taking steps at the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

PurpleStride participants raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more.

Here’s where you come in! I’ve set an ambitious fundraising goal and need your donations! A gift of any size will help patients and families facing a pancreatic cancer diagnosis.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
