As many of you know, my husband, Scott, was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer in the spring of 2023. He is doing well at this time, in spite of losing his beautiful hair to chemo.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest types of cancers with only a 7.7% 5-year survival rate, and rates of pancreatic cancer are rising. We need more research for early detection and successful therapy to buck this trend.

Twenty of us will be participating in the walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN Purple Stride in Pittsburgh on Saturday, April 27, 2024. The Groovy Gorham Gang thanks all of you for your support! We are making a difference.

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
