Debbie has engaged the "dragon" of pancreatic cancer with courage and determination. We have sought out top specialists and cutting-edge treatments. Since September, she has commuted to Boston for weekly treatments as part of a clinical trial at Mass General Hospital. She has completed 12 rounds of the potent chemotherapy regimen FOLFIRINOX, and she continues to receive the trial drug along with a milder form of chemo. 

Pancreatic cancer remains one of the most lethal forms of cancer. But there IS hope. 5-year survival has risen each year for the past 7 years. Several promising, game-changing treatments are in development. For Debbie, and hundreds of thousands of her fellow survivors, it's a matter of time. Can they keep going long enough to benefit from the new treatments that are on the horizon?

This is why we are taking steps at the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

PurpleStride participants raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more. PanCAN is an extraordinary organization. It has funded over $200M in research since 2003 and it provides a central hub of resources for PanCAN survivors at all stages of the journey. It is truly a game-changer.
