Life can change in the blink of an eye.  We never know when our time will be over here on Earth so we have to live life to the fullest.  We have to Live Like Lickiss!

Brad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer at the age of 44 in October, 2023.  He was one who never was sick, liked to drink his Bud Light, farm the Kansas dirt, tend to his growing cattle herd and be with his family and friends.  Even after his diagnosis, he still continued to do what he could on the farm, with his cattle and be with the ones who meant the most to him.  He was never afraid.  Never complained.  Never pittied himself and was always more concerned for those of us around him.  He lived each and every day to it's fullest and left a legacy behind him that each and every one of us treasurers.  

It wasn't fair that Brad had to take on a battle with Pancreatic Cancer.  And it isn't fair that he's not here with us today.  But what he would have wanted was to do whatever he could to help prevent another family go through what we have.  

Funding for Pancreatic Cancer specifically is lacking greatly with funds recently being eliminated at the government level.  This hurts not just those currently battling Pan Can, but each and every one of us as this greatly limits the research that goes into detecting, fighting and curing this horrible disease.  

I’m taking steps at the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

PurpleStride participants raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more.
