Welcome to my PanCAN PurpleStride Personal Fundraising Page!

In my mother's honor, this cause is important to me. I want to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and I need you to do it!  

In September 2023, my incredible mom, Julia, departed after courageously battling pancreatic cancer. Her radiant spirit, marked by boundless selflessness, touched all who knew her. Despite hardships in her youth, her determination was unwavering, raising six children and embracing nine grandchildren. Her generosity knew no bounds, extending support to neighbors and friends in times of need.

Her vision for 2024, was retiring and celebrating 50 years of marriage with my dad. However, cancer cruelly disrupted their plans. Diagnosed in 2022, she started treatments, surgery in May 2023, returned to work in July 2023, then hospice in August 2023. She took every step with unparalleled resilience and a brave face that only a mother could do. Her departure, just a month later, left us grappling with the injustice of pancreatic cancer. How does someone who gave so much never get her well-deserved retirement? Now, fueled by grief, I’m raising funds and awareness, determined to prevent other families from enduring a similar heartbreak.

I’m taking steps at the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

PurpleStride participants raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more.

About PanCAN PurpleStride

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
