Thank you for supporting my PanCAN PurpleStride fundraiser! My wife, Kathy, was diagnosed with Stage III pancreatic cancer in Nov 2022. After reviewing the entire PanCAN.org website, she immediately transferred her care to the UAB O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center in Birmingham, AL, where she underwent chemotherapy from Nov through April 2023, followed by Whipple surgery in May 2023, and then she had 2 more rounds of chemotherapy. Now she continues to be supervised every 3 months by her doctors at the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center with CT scans and a special blood test called Signatera that can detect the DNA of the actual excised tumor. So far, her 4 Signatera blood tests are negative for the tumor DNA, and her CT scans are clear of detectable lesions. During Kathy's year-long treatment, she received support and mentoring from a PanCAN.org volunteer in the Birmingham affiliate, and she derived great benefit from this.

Now it's our turn to pay back this help from PanCAN.org. I want to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients like Kathy – and I need you to do it!

PurpleStride participants raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more.
