When I was diagnosed in September 2022, the walls seemed to close in around me, like you would see in a psychedelic film. Pancreatic cancer?? What? The fight was  an arduous one filled with chemo, radiation and the ultimate surgery… The Whipple. Recovery was complicated and I am still far from “normal” but am blessed and humbled to be alive and cancer-free for 10 months now. 

My surgical team was amazing, as was my support team of family and friends who helped me fight this giant beast. Pancreatic cancer is still a mysterious ogre that requires more research to help find a cure… I am the rare case. Usually, it snatches people brutally and quickly.

I want to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and I need you to do it!

I’m taking steps at the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

PurpleStride participants raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more.

Here’s where you come in! I’ve set an ambitious fundraising goal and need your donations! A gift of any size will help patients and families facing a pancreatic cancer diagnosis.

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
