Dear All: 

Our family is participating in the PanCAN PurpleStride walk to bring attention to pancreatic cancer and raise funds for PanCAN. Please spread the word about PanCAN’s PurpleStride. Let’s take steps together to bring awareness to pancreatic cancer and encourage those battling this horrific disease and their family to keep up the fight. Wage Hope! 

On a personal note, pancreatic cancer has devastated our family. We do not want other families to have to go through the physical pain, emotional turmoil and financial hardship brought on by pancreatic cancer. That’s why we’re reaching out to friends and family to bring awareness to this disease. 

PanCAN is an organization near and dear to our hearts. We were in complete shock when Allen was diagnosed in September 2023. Allen had no symptoms until the aggressive cancer was advanced. PanCAN is an organization we turned to and learned more about the disease, treatment options, community groups, etc. The educational materials provided hands down were the best received. 

Please consider joining a walk in your area, donating to our fundraiser page to raise funds for PanCAN, or consider stopping by Bellevue State Park in Wilmington, Delaware to cheer on our family +  friends team ‘Payne in the Pancreas’, or simply wear something purple on April 27, 2024. Send us a pic if you wear purple so I can share with Allen to help lift his spirits! 

PanCAN funds research, provides patient and caregivers services and advocates to urge Congress to increase federal research funding for pancreatic cancer.

Pancreatic cancer has a very low survival rate. The good news is the 5-year survival rate increased to 13%. Allen and I hope the survival rate percentage will continue to increase as more funding is dedicated to research, prevention and a cure.
