Dear All: 

Our family is participating in the PanCAN PurpleStride walk to bring attention to pancreatic cancer and raise funds for PanCAN. Please spread the word about PanCAN’s PurpleStride. Let’s take steps together to bring awareness to pancreatic cancer and encourage those of us battling this dreadful disease to keep fighting and give our family hope. Wage Hope!

Our family has been devastated by pancreatic cancer and we do not want other families to have to go through the physical pain, emotional turmoil and financial hardship brought on by pancreatic cancer. That’s why we’re reaching out to family and friends to bring awareness to this “silent” cancer.

PanCAN is an organization near and dear to our hearts. We were in complete shock when diagnosed in September 2023 as there were no symptoms until the aggressive cancer had advanced. PanCAN is an organization we turned to and learned more about the disease, treatment options, community groups, etc. The educational materials provided hands down were the best received. PanCAN funds research, provides patient and caregivers services and advocates to urge Congress to increase federal research funding for pancreatic cancer.


Pancreatic cancer has a very low survival rate. The good news is the 5-year survival rate increased to 13%. Our hope is the survival rate percentage will continue to increase as more funding is dedicated to research, prevention and a cure.

PurpleStride participants raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more.

Please consider joining a walk in your area, donating to our fundraiser page for PanCAN, stopping by Bellevue State Park in Wilmington, Delaware to cheer on our family +  friends team ‘Payne in the Pancreas’, or simply wear something purple on April 27, 2024. Send us a pic if you wear purple!

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
