In honor of My Honey and the devastating and painful journey he was just on, I'd like to make the biggest impact that I can on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and I know you'll be right beside me! 

As PurpleStride participants, we will raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more. Many of Tom's doctors were also doing research.  They had shared with him the outlook looked good for breakthroughs on the horizon. Tom was hopeful.  

Tom's battle was a swift four months and ten days from the date of his diagnosis.  As he was leaving us, news broke that researchers may have discovered 'how' this disease is able to run rampant, unchallenged.  Tom wasn't coherent enough to hear the news.  I know he would've been happy to know his doctors were right ... and there is hope.  

Tom created this team earlier this year for the walk we did in April, 2024.  I'd like to keep his hopeful spirit and giving heart going.  This is the same #TEAMTOM, just with a new Captain.  I know he'd be thrilled to know his "Wifey" is keeping it going for him.

Every day is a challenge. Every day without Tom is unbearable. Every day with each one of you, our ARMY, by our side, encourages myself and our family, to keep going and look to brighter days ahead.
