POWER PLAY FOR PURPLE



Power Play for Purple Mission: Raise awareness for pancreatic cancer, honor the memory of our friend Matt Griffin, and fundraise for the #MattStrong team to support the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in MA (pancan.org).

How are we making this happen?
We’re partnering with Providence College, where Matt proudly graduated magna cum laude in 2017. On February 7th, Schneider Arena will be transformed for Power Play for Purple as we rally behind the Friars’ #4 Men’s Hockey team as they face off against the UMaine Bears. In addition to the game, we'll host a fundraiser to support the cause.

Here’s how you can get involved:
• Donate to Power Play for Purple (for the #MattStrong team) — every dollar raised goes directly to pancan.org to help fight pancreatic cancer.
• Buy a ticket to the game — Providence College will donate $5 for every ticket sold! Tickets are selling fast, so act quickly. The game is on 2/7 at 7 pm.
• Chuck-a-Puck — Purchase pucks to throw on the ice after the game for a chance to win a Providence College Friars prize pack! All proceeds benefit pancan.org.

About PanCAN PurpleStride

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
