Wage Hope at PurpleStride. The walk to end pancreatic cancer.
Wage Hope to end pancreatic cancer
On September 14, 2019, my mom passed away from pancreatic cancer. It was only nine weeks prior to her passing that we received her stage four diagnosis. Though we considered aggressive treatment plans, my mom chose to enjoy her final days as best as possible with her children and grandchildren. Even when the best you have is a few months, that time goes by so very quickly. Thankfully, my family had the opportunity to maximize our time to be with mom together. Her final moments were very peaceful. But everyday I wish she was still with us.
Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 9%. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination.
Our team has stepped up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer. Will you help us rewrite the future of this disease by making a donation today? If you are in Florida, why not join my run/walk team on February 29th for PurpleStride Tampa Bay 2020. I would love to have a group of us do this together on that day. Your registration fee will count toward individual and team goals.
Every dollar that you donate ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to create better outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. By donating to our team, you are supporting vital efforts to double pancreatic cancer survival by 2020.
Purple ribbons aren’t enough. Please join us in the fight today.
