Those who knew John will always remember how much he loved people. In fact, he never met a stranger! While John loved talking with those around him, he especially loved to have a good laugh with them. He could capture the attention of an entire room with a slap of his hands on a table and his head thrown back in laughter. It didn’t matter how loud the laughter grew, John wanted all the people around him to enjoy life and live in the moment.
In 2002, John was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He courageously fought the disease for 16 years before his passing on July 1, 2018. During his life, John had a contagious enthusiasm for the things he loved, which included boating, going out to dinner, reading, visiting Delray Beach, exploring 150+ Bahamian islands, and, of course, spending time with family and friends. Today, he is survived by his wife of 38 years, his mother, his seven siblings, his five daughters, and his six grandchildren.
Please help us honor John’s memory by helping others who are still fighting the same battle. Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 9%. Every dollar that you donate ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to create better outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. By donating to our team, you are supporting vital efforts to double pancreatic cancer survival by 2020.
