Wage Hope at PurpleStride. The walk to end pancreatic cancer.
Wage Hope to end pancreatic cancer
Our father, George Bakatsias, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November, 1990. He was told he had 3-6 months to live. He endured surgery, treatments and courageously fought this disease until he passed away on July 26, 1992. It was miraculous how long he was able to fight this disease. He was able to do so because of his incredible will to live and never, truly not ever, complaining about the incredible pain and horrific battle he was fighting. To see that almost 27 years later, the 5 year survival rate is only 9% is devastating. We need to demand better. Please join us by donating or coming out and walking with us on June 13, 2020 in DC!
