Wage Hope at PurpleStride. The walk to end pancreatic cancer.
Wage Hope to end pancreatic cancer
My Dad, Jerry Wennlund, was diagnosed with Advanced Stage 3 pancreatic cancer in April 2019, just a few weeks after we'd finished a half marathon together. Our world was rocked even further as we learned that pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 9%.
Organizations like PanCan Action Network give us hope. Over the past year my Dad's oncology team has experimented with treatment plans and, to our relief, had success in shrinking the tumor. His fight is far from over, but I truly believe that combining his grit with medical advances he can beat this.
When he was first diagnosed it crossed my mind that he may not even be with us to participate in this walk. Not only will he be here, but he feels strong enough to jog!
Our team has stepped up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer. Will you help us rewrite the future of this disease by making a donation today?
Every dollar that you donate ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to create better outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. By donating to our team, you are supporting vital efforts to double pancreatic cancer survival by 2020.
Purple ribbons aren’t enough. Please join us in the fight today.
