We walk for Matt Varner, late brother of our team captain Allen Varner.
Wage Hope to end pancreatic cancer
We walk for Matt Varner. Matt was a devoted husband and father. He was married to his wife Jane for 38 years. He had a very successful career with Willis Towers Watson for 37 years. He raised 2 sons and now up to 4 grandkids. Those grandkids knew him as "Poppy".
Matt lived in the Charlotte, NC and the team run by his sons, known as "Poppy Patrol" raised over $15K in 2018. We have done our part to donate and be at the Purple Stride walk in Charlotte, but now it is time for us to do more at home. That led to the creation of Bro's Brigade. Matt was my younger brother, and I want to help lead the charge against pancreatic cancer. It took less than a year for this cancer to take my brother, but we will continue to do everything we can to eradicate this disease and find a cure.
Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of any cancer at 9%.
We hope you will consider joining Bro's Brigade for the Birmingham Purple Stride event.
We walk because we care. We walk to end pancreatic cancer. We walk to wage hope!
Purple ribbons aren’t enough. Please join us in the fight today.
